Cities/Villages/Towns issued the following announcement on Sept. 22
The Common Council passed a resolution to have hybrid city meetings. This means that the elected officials and public may attend in person or virtually, under a few conditions (listed below).
Gatherings that bring together many people from different households can put individuals at risk for COVID-19 infection. There are several mitigation practices that can reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission and make these gatherings safer.
- Universal mask use. The City of Wauwatosa is currently experiencing high transmission of COVID-19. Because of this, it is recommended that all people ages 2 and older wear a mask in indoor settings, regardless of vaccination status.
- Physical distancing. Individuals should maintain 6 feet of distance between themselves and people who do not live in their household. We will space out chairs, so that individuals can spread out. When necessary, we'll use an overflow room for viewing of a meeting.
- Stay home when sick. Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should stay home and should not attend meetings in-person.
- Virtual option for high-risk individuals. People who are unvaccinated or who have a weakened immune system are at a higher risk of COVID-19 infection. It is recommended that they participate in the virtual meeting option to reduce their risk of getting sick.
- Wash your hands. Encourage all participants to wash their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Alternatively, provide hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
