Join the newly formed Friends of the Shorewood Nature Preserve for two hands-on activities to celebrate spring. Recognize World Migratory Bird Day with a guided bird walk from 7:30-8:30 am. The Preserve has been an important stopover for migratory birds. Commonly, 32 species are seen and, according to ebird.org, 174 bird species have been recorded. The garlic mustard weed out is from 9:30 am-Noon. Help remove this invasive weed, get a delicious recipe for garlic mustard pesto and a free sample. For more information on these activities and questions regarding the Friends group, contact Roland Schroeder via email.
