Federal Funding Secured for Ten Mile Park | Village of Brown Deer

The Village is excited to announce the funding for Ten Mile Park was secured through the final government funding package approved at the federal level on December 23. A total of $2,496,630 is earmarked for the creation of Ten Mile Park in Brown Deer. Click here for the full list of projects approved that are a part of Congresswoman Moore’s district.

Planning efforts for Ten Mile Park have been underway since 2018 when the land was acquired by the Village. This site is the area adjacent to the Oak Leaf Trail just south of Brown Deer Rd. Due to its proximity to the trail as well as its visibility and accessibility from Brown Deer Rd., this site has great potential as a community park for so many people of all ages to enjoy. The name “Ten Mile” derives from the Ten Mile Post Office that originally was erected on the site and serves as the ten-mile marker from downtown Milwaukee.

The Village is anticipating this work to start soon in 2023. The Village will assure the community stays informed on planning efforts and be given an opportunity to provide feedback on design concepts. We are excited to watch this plan come to fruition.
