4.9% of citizens unemployed in Milwaukee County in 2021

Milwaukee County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.9% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 23,538 people out of the 939,123 living in Milwaukee County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Milwaukee County has decreased compared to the 5.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Milwaukee County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 3.5%.

Of the 453,087 people who had a job during that time, 425 were employed in the Armed Forces and 452,662 belonged to the civilian labor force.
