FOIA Request to Village of River Hills Regarding Same Day Registered Voters in the 2024 Election on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Milwaukee North News have submitted a request for public records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq. The request, sent on November 7, 2024, seeks a list of new voter registrations that were completed on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
As a media organization, we are deeply involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
In light of our role in disseminating information to the community, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional. We eagerly await the response from Village of River Hills regarding this request and will continue to keep our readers informed about developments in this matter.
